“Stesso Campo” a new inclusive sports project launches in Livorno

Shipping Services Italia is the main sponsor of the initiative dedicated to Sitting Volleyball and the promotion of a culture of sport accessible to everyone.

Livorno, September 25, 2026 – “Stesso Campo” (Same Playing Field), a sports and social project created to promote Sitting Volleyball and, more broadly, foster a culture of inclusive and Paralympic sport through the creation of Livorno’s first Sitting Volleyball team, was presented this morning at a packed Sala delle Cerimonie at Livorno City Hall.

The initiative, developed by APS Sintomi di Felicità in collaboration with Pallavolo Libertas Livorno ASD, aims to establish a new local sports community where people with and without disabilities can share the same playing field, promoting sport as a means of participation, connection, independence, inclusion, and community growth.

The project is also supported by Shipping Services Italia, which, as a Benefit Corporation, is committed to people, the community, and the environment by supporting initiatives that generate social value in the local area. “Stesso Campo” is part of this commitment, promoting inclusion, participation, and equal opportunities through sport.

Those attending the presentation included Mayor of Livorno Luca Salvetti; Vice President of the Tuscany Region Mia Diop; Regional Councillor for Culture Cristina Manetti; Vice President of the Province Eleonora Agostinelli; Giulia Aringhieri, Italian National Sitting Volleyball Team athlete and creator of the project; Leandra Ferrini, lawyer and team manager of Pallavolo Libertas Livorno; Cesare Fremura, representing Shipping Services Italia and Fondazione Magazzini Generali; and Eva Ceccatelli, Tuscany Regional Sitting Volleyball Representative.

Also attending were Giovanni Giannone, Provincial President of CONI; Roberto Volpi, Provincial Delegate of CIP; and Dr. Carmine Di Muro, Head of Sports Medicine at Livorno Hospital.

The project includes introductory Sitting Volleyball activities, a series of Open Days for the local community, and initiatives aimed at raising awareness and promoting Paralympic sports culture.

The first major event will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Magazzini Generali, Via della Cinta Esterna 48/50, Livorno. The event will mark the beginning of a program that will continue with Open Days and subsequent activities in the gym. Starting at 10:00 AM, participants will have the opportunity to try Sitting Volleyball and meet the athletes and coaches. During the morning, “Stesso Campo”, the sports program for Livorno’s first Sitting Volleyball team, will also be presented. The event will conclude with a toast.

The goal is to build a stable, inclusive team rooted in the local community, creating new opportunities for participation in sport while helping make Livorno an increasingly inclusive and accessible city for sports for everyone.
